5 tips to avoid dangerous negative answers

Your wording influences the ideas and thoughts that occur in the mind of your dialog partner. Read how to avoid creating negative emotions in the other person.

1. Negative answers
Negative answers reduce the power of the statements and force the other person to activate his or her consciousness. According to Psychology Today, people need 48 percent more time to understand negative wording than a direct message.

2. Negative announcements
Things should be announced how they happen and not how they don't. A turned around announcement creates a picture that reflects the opposite of what you want.

3. Wrong focus
In explanations of what is possible and when or how, the content should always focus on the positive aspect.

4. Non-words
Non-words are negative forms that are more difficult for the other person to translate and always impart a negative feeling.

5. Negative words and wording
Some words and forms of expression evoke negative emotions. If possible, wording such as this should be replaced with neutral or positive forms. Of course, real problems do sometimes have to cause concern. But if you constantly use expressions such as “problem” or “you have to”, people will stop taking you seriously.
