New! Innovation Award at LASER 2019

Award ceremony of the 2017 Start-Up Awards

The Start-Up Award is already well established. It will now be joined by the Innovation Award for the best new products. Both awards at LASER World of PHOTONICS 2019 also come with € 5,000 prize money.

LASER World of PHOTONICS 2019 announces the third round of the Start-Up Award. In addition, all exhibitors, co-exhibitors, and their partners are asked to submit innovations they plan to show in Munich from June 24 to 27, when Messe München, in cooperation with British publishing company Europa Science, will be presenting the inaugural Innovation Award.

A top-class jury will assess the newly developed components, systems, installations and also processes and services—and choose the prize winners. In addition to the publicity, the winners also have the chance of receiving €5,000 prize money. Submitted innovations may not be older than 12 months, but at the time of submission must be ready for the market or ready to use and must be shown at the exhibitor's booth during the fair. The jury will choose the finalists during the run-up to LASER World of PHOTONICS. The winners will be announced and the award ceremony will take place during the fair.

Wanted: innovations from all areas of photonics

Exhibitors and their partners may submit innovations from a wide range of applications, such as lasers and optoelectronics, lighting and energy, optics including optical engineering as well as lasers & laser systems for manufacturing. New developments from the fields of biophotonics and medical engineering, imaging, sensor technology, measuring and testing technology, optical information and communication, and security are also welcome. The jury will assess the submissions on the basis of criteria such as level of innovation, customer benefit, and market potential.

Start-Up Award enters round three

The Start-Up Award, which also comes with €5,000 prize money, is aimed at companies that are no older than five years. They can submit either a product or a prototype. In this case, too, the jury will choose a short list based on criteria such as level of innovation, market maturity, business potential, and attractiveness for investors. In June, the winning team will be chosen from the five finalists and will be presented with the coveted award during the fair

If you are interested, you will have to hurry: the last date of submission for both awards is March 29, 2019.
