Together sustainable for a green future!

Everyone can make a contribution to climate protection, including you as a visitor to LASER World of PHOTONICS. By purchasing a GoGreen ticket, you can make a contribution to climate protection for the emissions generated by your journey. In addition to the GoGreen Ticket, you can find further tips on how to make your visit to the trade fair even more sustainable here.

Consciously avoiding emissions

Sustainability is a mission that we can only implement together. We will help you make your LASER World of PHOTONICS visit as environmentally friendly as possible. With our tips, you can significantly improve your personal eco-balance. Because for each individual, it's just a small step. Together, it's a whole lot of the way.

Climate protection on site

  • LASER World of PHOTONICS. Feel free to bring your own to avoid waste.
  • Bring reusable cups or bottles that you can fill up for free at our water stations.
  • Choose regional, seasonal, and ideally vegetarian dishes and meals. This saves CO₂.
  • You do not have to bring your ticket printed out! It is sufficient if you scan the ticket on your cell phone at the entrance. There you will receive a badge. This way you save paper.
  • Use the time on site purposefully and intensively. Take the opportunity that the industry is on site and make as many business contacts as possible at the fair. This will save you having to travel individually to meet customers, partners and service providers.
  • Which flyers, brochures and catalogs do you really need? Information such as the hall plan, exhibitor list, lecture program and much more can be found conveniently and quickly in the LASER World of PHOTONICS event app or in the LASER World of PHOTONICS exhibitor directory. The information can be used optimally both in preparation and on site thanks to the WiFi we provide free of charge. This can reduce the printing of brochures and flyers and save material for the benefit of the environment.
  • Only take sustainable or environmentally friendly giveaways with you from the trade show, if at all.
  • Did you receive a lanyard? Feel free to use it for your next trade show visit. The more often they are reused, the fewer lanyards need to be produced.

Environmentally friendly infrastructure

  • Climate-friendly travel: The LASER World of PHOTONICS sspecial event ticket enables you to travel with low emissions. Thanks to seamless connections between the trade fair center and Munich's public transport system, you'll always be right in the middle of the action. This not only protects the environment, but also your wallet.
  • Form car pools if you are traveling by car.
  • Green refueling on site: 110 stations are available on the exhibition grounds for charging your electric vehicle.

Everyone can make their contribution to climate protection, including you as a visitor to LASER World of PHOTONICS.

This climate protection contribution of 4 euros was invested in three high-quality myclimate carbon offset projects that meet the highest standards (Gold Standard, Plan Vivo) and demonstrably make a positive contribution to local and regional sustainable development. The following carbon offset projects were supported with the GoGreen ticket:

Traditionally the rural communities of the Siaya region of western Kenya have cooked on open fires, which require huge amounts of firewood. Thanks to community savings and loaning (CSL) groups, however, women can now afford more efficient stoves. This reduces the demand for firewood and thus protects the local forests, which leads to reduced CO₂ emissions. Furthermore the CSL groups lead to a financial and social empowerment of women.

Situation without project:

Use of non-renewable biomass fuels for cooking

Yearly CO₂ reduction: 144,910 t

Your support contributes to the following 11 Sustainable Development Goals:

SDG 1 - No poverty
A household saves 72 euros and 242 hours due to reduced fuel consumption.

SDG 3 - Good health and well-being
Women and children from 67,836 households benefit from better air quality.

SDG 4 - Quality education
70,000 people have been reached with awareness creation on climate change, clean cooking and community saving & loaning.

SDG 5 - Gender equity
30% of the jobs created by the project are held by women and the project reduces time spent by women and girls collecting firewood.

SDG 7 - Affordable and clean energy
343,628 persons benefit from efficient and cleaner cooking.

SDG 8 - Decent work and economic growth
160 people benefit from permanent employment.

SDG 12 - Responsible consumption and production
The clean and energy efficient cookstoves are produced locally with local material.

SDG 13 - Climate action
Each stoves saves around 2.0 t CO₂ per year.

SDG 15 - Life on land
393,802 tons of wood have been saved since project start.

SDG 16 – Peace, justice and strong institutions
1,806 grassroot groups have been established, capacity has been built.

SDG 17 - Partnerships for the goals
67,836 efficient cookstoves have been produced.

This project distributes efficient cook stoves for returnees in Burundi. The stoves are part of an aid package handed out in reception camps by aid organisations such as UNHCR and World Food Programme. The stoves have improved combustion, resulting in reduced household air pollution with its associated adverse health effects. The stoves also require less fuel wood which conserves forests, saves on the chore of gathering wood and reduces CO2 emissions.

Situation without project:
Higher consumption of non-renewable biomass

Yearly CO₂ reduction: 395,379 t

Your support contributes to the following 7 Sustainable Development Goals:

SDG 1 - No poverty
Reduction of fuel consumption and associated expenses by 80 per cent

SDG 3 - Good health and well-being
Reduction of indoor air pollution and related risk to respiratory diseases

SDG 5 - Gender equity
Women regain time otherwise spent collecting firewood and cooking

SDG 7 - Affordable and clean energy
Distribution of 200,000 improved cook stoves to returnees

SDG 8 - Decent work and economic growth
170 jobs generated.

SDG 13 - Climate action
Avoidance of 395,379 t CO₂ per year and 2 t CO₂ per stove per year

SDG 15 - Life on land
Avoidance of 2,500 ha of deforestation per year

The installation of domestic biogas plants substitutes the use of firewood and chemical fertilizers in the Karnataka region. In addition to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and less degradation of the forest people directly profit from higher crop yields and less indoor pollution. Moreover, the project will also reduce methane emissions from cattle manure.

Situation without project:
Using firewood and kerosene for cooking

Yearly CO₂ reduction: 45,650 t

Your support contributes to the following 7 Sustainable Development Goals:

SDG 1 - No poverty
The use of slurry (organic fertilizer produced by the farmers themselves) helps to prevent small farmers from becoming dependent on chemical fertilizers, thus improving their families’ financial situation.

SDG 2 - Zero hunger
To date, the biogas systems have produced 301,534 tons of organic fertilizer and thus reduced 6,130 tons of chemical fertilizer, thus contributing to sustainable agriculture.

SDG 3 - Good health and well-being
50,000 persons have benefited from better air quality since the start of the project.

SDG 4 - Quality education
Because the time-consuming collection of firewood is no longer necessary, children have more time to go to school and do homework. This gives each family almost 1.2 hours of additional time per day.

SDG 5 - Gender equity
Only women are entitled to buy and own a biogas plant. This helps to level out the balance of power in the family and to strengthen the position of the women.

SDG 7 - Affordable and clean energy
8,033 biogas digesters have been installed since the start of the project.

SDG 8 - Decent work and economic growth
22 permanent jobs have been created for the local population and more than 8,000 people have been trained in the use of biogas plants.

SDG 12 - Responsible consumption and production
The recycling of organic waste contributes to sustainable waste management.

SDG 13 - Climate action
Each biogas biodigester avoids 6.5 t CO₂ and reduced wood consumption by 3.7 t per year.

SDG 15 - Life on land
To date, the program has reduced wood consumption by 221,054 tons and has thus saved 3,028 hectares of forest from deforestation.

SDG 17 - Partnerships for the goals
The program enables the transfer, dissemination and implementation of environmentally friendly technologies in India.
