Top-Level Meeting of International Photonics Research
Every two years, the international scientific elite gathers in Munich to learn about flagship projects in photonics and laser research at Europe's largest photonics congress. In five scientific conferences and a series of practice-oriented application panels, all aspects of research – from basic and applied scientific topics to the latest laser and photonics applications in industry and medicine – are presented and discussed. Around 3,000 presentations, invited talks, keynotes, poster sessions, and plenary lectures offer researchers from all over the world a gigantic window into the future.
The World of Photonics Congress takes place in conjunction with the leading trade fair for photonics, Laser World of Photonics, and, since 2023, together with World of Quantum and automatica, the leading trade fair for intelligent automation and robotics. Featuring the latest milestones in photonics research on the one hand and a comprehensive showcase of the photonics industry on the other, this concept allows visitors to experience a unique combination of science, innovative technologies, and industrial applications.
The next World of Photonics Congress will take place from June 20 to 25, 2027, at the ICM – International Congress Center München.
The parallel trade fairs Laser World of Photonics, World of Quantum, and automatica will take place from June 22 to 25, 2027, in the exhibition halls of Messe München.
