The latest trends and innovations in photonics will once again be the focus of the next Laser World of Photonics, taking place from June 24 to 27, 2025 at the Munich Exhibition Center. The accompanying Laser World of Photonics Congress will already start on June 22 and bring two Nobel Prize winners to Munich. The two events being held in parallel, World of Quantum and automatica, will also provide exciting added value and a view outside the box.
The next Laser World of Photonics in 2025 will feature a new logo and design that represents the colorful diversity of light. “More than half a year before the trade fair, all the key players in the industry have already confirmed their participation. As usual, LASER will once again be very international, with exhibitors currently from almost 40 countries and regions, as well as 14 international joint stands,” says Exhibition Director Anke Odouli. In a total of five halls with eleven exhibition areas, the trade fair thus covers the entire spectrum of photonic technologies. The Integrated Photonics Area in Hall A2 has been given more space for the addition of a forum area to reflect the growing importance of this branch of photonics.
The MedTecLIVE Healthtech Pavilion, a special joint area of LASER and automatica (Hall A4), will celebrate its premiere in 2025. For the first time, it will bring developers from medical technology manufacturers together with experts in laser technology, automation and robotics. The joint stand is being organized by Messe München in cooperation with MedtecLIVE, Europe’s leading trade fair for medical technology, as well as VDMA Health Tech and Bayern Innovativ.
The trade fair’s supporting program will also reflect how diverse the fields of application for photonics are. In four forums with practical presentations, in discussion rounds and in direct dialog, for example, during the guided tours or the special show “Photons in Production”, it provides expert knowledge on all the applications of the technology. The Innovation Award offers companies and, above all, startups a stage for their innovations. The Career Center provides young talents with information on job prospects and career opportunities in the industry.
With Anne L’Huillier and Ferenc Krausz, two Nobel Prize winners in physics will be represented at the World of Photonics Congress 2025. The industry’s international scientific elite meets every two years at Europe’s largest photonics congress to discuss all aspects of photonics – from the latest research findings to innovative industrial applications. In 2025, it will combine five individual conferences under one roof: The largest is CLEO®/Europe-EQEC, which addresses all facets of optical technologies and photonics in the field of basic research. In addition, there will be four conferences focusing on applied science, namely LiM – Lasers in Manufacturing, Digital Optical Technologies, Optical Metrology and the ECBO – European Conferences on Biomedical Optics.
Two trade fairs taking place in parallel will complement what Laser World of Photonics has to offer and provide added value and new stimulus: While the World of Quantum highlights the application potential of quantum technology, automatica is all about automation and robotics. There are already numerous overlaps between the automation and laser industries, and quantum technology holds huge potential especially for industrial applications, for example, through the desired performance of quantum computers. With one trade fair ticket, visitors automatically have access to the other two events.
The next LASER World of PHOTONICS and World of QUANTUM will take place together with automatica from June 24 to 27, 2025, in Munich. The next World of Photonics Congress runs parallelly from June 22 to 27, 2025.
