Abstract Lecture

The global drive to reduce carbon footprint in transportation is propelling the electrification of vehicles, with projections indicating that electric vehicles will comprise half of the world's car fleet by 2040. This transition towards e-mobility is spurring the development of innovative transport solutions for a wide range of vehicles, from cars to drones and trucks. Laser technology has emerged as a versatile and flexible tool capable of welding, cutting, trimming, texturing, heat treatment and coating, among others. In response to the rapid evolution of end products, it is imperative to assess and integrate laser processes early in the design stage to avoid the need to replace existing production processes. Luxinar will present application examples showcasing the use of CO2 lasers at different wavelengths and ultrashort pulse (USP) lasers operating at 1030nm or 515nm, highlighting the importance of developing reliable process windows for industrial applications.
