Biography

Dr.-Ing. Patrick Kölzer studied mechanical engineering at the RWTH in Aachen and worked from 2000 as a research assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Pro-duction Technology (IPT) in the Production Machines department. During this time, he was mainly involved in the development of automated systems for the pro-cessing of thermoplastic prepregs. In June 2008, he published his dissertation on this topic »Temperature detection system and process controls for laser-assisted winding and tape-laying for continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composites«. As co-founder of AFPT GmbH, Dr. Kölzer has been managing director since March 2007.
