Based on this, the researchers expect a steep growth curve to 22.29 billion US-$ by 2034. This would represent an average annual growth rate of nearly 24 percent. According to the study, U.S. manufacturers dominate the market and held over one-third of the global market share in 2025, followed by Europe with a 26 percent and manufacturers in the Asia-Pacific region with 21.31 percent market share.
Mordor Intelligencepaints a similar picture for the period from 2020 to 2031. According to their report, the global silicon photonics market volume reached nearly US-$ 3 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow at an annual rate of 27 percent to reach US-$ 13.18 billion by 2031. If this growth were to continue through 2034, Mordor’s forecast of nearly $27 billion would be significantly higher than FORTUNE’s projection.
Grand View Research also expects annual growth rates of more than 25 percent in the silicon photonics market, though it estimates the market size to be lower. According to their projections, the global market will grow to US-$ 8.1 billion by 2030. If growth continues at the given speed, the market value in 2034 would be just under US-$ 20 billion. Despite those differences, market observers agree on one point: silicon photonics is poised for rapid growth at annual rates between 24 and 27 percent, fore there is demand everywhere and across many industries for miniaturized, highly efficient photonic systems that interact seamlessly with existing electronic infrastructures.

In its latest “Integrated Photonics Market Report 2026,” Research&Markets estimates the current market volume at US$11.39 billion and forecasts growth rates of 11 percent for this emerging technology through the end of the decade. The drivers are said to be the demand for higher-bandwidth communication systems, the expansion of fiber-optic networks and data centers, and the increasingly exhausted potential for improving the performance of electronic chips. Photonics integration on chips is considered a key option for keeping pace with Moore’s Law in terms of performance scaling.
