Our latest laser system advancements based around the laser welding technologies for hairpin design electric drives will be presented. Focusing on multi-spot waveguides, the audience will learn about advanced welding techniques allowing to increase the efficiency of the welding process regarding weld quality and productivity.For copper hairpin welding an in-depth view on how the laser setups and the welding strategies could be optimized in order to reach the most efficient welding process will be outlined. Implications of different power densities in use will be explained in their basic aspects and the resulting impact on the processing strategy regarding welding paths and sequences described. A digression into aluminium hairpin welding will be undertaken showing how the findings can be conveyed to a different material.Finally, our latest sensor system strategies will be shown. This includes active process adaption approaches and their implementation on the one hand as well as an outlook on how Artificial Intelligence aided system components could help to improve image based acquisition systems on the other.
